As a part of the Local Youth Initiatives 2018 within the project Balkan Regional Platform for Youth Participation and Dialogue, LDA Mostar awarded grants to project proposals coming from two different non-formal youth initiatives. Both projects contained the innovative character and were implemented successfully.
The first project implemented by non-formal group of young people was called ''Demokratska prost-intuicija''. The objective was to raise awareness among the broad population on the issue of the marginalisation of the young women coming from the rural areas through the performing art. Young people forming the initiative designed the scenography, music, scenario and the costume for the live performance called ‘’Remember’’ which eventually took place in front of the audience on October 13 in Youth Cultural Centre Abrasevic in Mostar. The performance was presented in the frame of International rural women celebration which is celebrated every year on October 15.
The second project ''Na mladima cvijet ostaje'' implemented by the non-formal group ''Ekoomladina'', consisted of two sets of different eco workshops called ‘’Good neighbours’’ and ‘’Green wall’’, and was intended for the youngsters aged 7-14. The objective was to raise the awareness among young people on the importance of permaculture and recycling both through theory as well as through practice. Young people got the chance to experience different phases of planting, to learn more about the plants that are compatible with one another and to build their own green wall from the recycled plastic bottles.
