The Balkan Network for Local Democracy – BNLD is organising a Regional Best Practice Fair on the 02nd and 3rd September 2021 in Skopje. This two-day hybrid event will bring together representatives from CSOS, youth groups, local public authorities, local media outlets and members of BNLD coming from the 6 Western Balkan countries. 

The promotion of the “Comparative Study – Youth transformative potential in the EU Integration processes and post-covid-19 developments in the Western Balkan “took place on July 23, 2021, 11.00h, on the Zoom platform.

The third episode of LDA CSS’s podcast revolved around the local media in Knjaževac. This is one of the hot-topics, since all the media (radio stations, newspapers, televisions etc.) have been recently shut down due to financial problems. This means that the people are left with no source of information except the official government websites. “Lack of finances, projects and other means of financial support, led to the complete media shut down, and the people of Knjaževac were doomed to hear about the news on the street, word of mouth, or on Facebook posts from their friends,” said Ljiljana Pavlović, journalist who spent her entire professional career working in the Knjaževac media.

The second episode of the LDA CSS’s podcast was about the local Multiple Sclerosis Association from Knjaževac. The speaker, Ana Ranđelović, who is the current President of the Association, spoke about the role of this organization, some of the challenges they have, and how the Association marked World MS Day (May 30).

LDA Subotica organized the Multistakeholder platform meeting within the Regional Youth Compact for Europe project held last month on 5^th June.

The Regional Youth Compact for Europe just finalized one more comparative study entitled “Youth Transformative Potential in the EU Integration Processes and Post-COVID-19 Developments in the Western Balkans”.

It all started as a passing mention to my friend that I didn’t think much of. “Hey, why don’t we try a student exchange program together? It could be fun.” Fast forward a few months’ worth of planning, work, and convincing of our respective parents later, we experienced what felt to us like a really good dream… complete with the feeling of being woken up early. 

The Local Democracy Agency Zavidovići organized an event entitled "Youth Participation - Good Practice Becomes Our Practice" within the project "Regional Youth Compact for Europe" funded by the European Union.

Beginning June the 22nd and running until the 23rd, the Regional Youth Compact for Europe is hosting a webinar event called the “Western Balkan Youth Capacity Building Corner,” in which participants will learn about the EU integration process and the societal and economic reforms that need to take place on the local, national, and regional levels, especially with the possibility of accession for the Western Balkans. The last time project activities were hosted involving this topic was 2 years ago.
