On 28 and 29 of November, 2018, the Youth Office of the Municipality of Centar organized a lecture and panel discussion as part of the project "Active young citizens, a developed community" implemented by the Institute for Development of Social Capacities IROK Skopje.
Fascilitator of the lecture was Stefan Dojchinovski and covered two themes: "Participative democracy and postmodern state / the law and the political" and "Citizen participation in the context of democracy and human rights", which was followed by discussion.
The panel discussion was attended by representatives of many different types of civil initiatives and movements, Mite Kuzevski from the media for the digital generation "Vidi vaka", Andrej Jankov from the citizen initiative "Go sakam Vodno" and Stefan Vidikov from “Studentski plenum“. They discussed about their organizations and how they are structured , the challenges they face and shared other experiences of their activism.
The aim of the discussion was introducing civil participation to the young people and teaching them the forms in which they can exercise their right and make positive changes in the community.
The project "Active young citizens, a developed community" is supported by the Youth Fund of the Balkan Regional Platform for Youth Participation and Dialogue, which has been realized for the fourth year at regional level by 7 Local Agencies democracy and ALDA Skopje in 5 Balkan countries. Through local and regional activities, the platform aims to increase awareness of youth participation, youth activism and opportunities for young people to create and be part of decision making.
