Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue aims on increasing awareness on youth participation, youth activism and the possibilities of young people creating and influencing the policies closely related to them. The activities of the project are implemented in the municipality of Centar and municipality of Kavadarci with their cooperation.
As a part of the Balkan Platform’s activities interviewing the local stakeholders took a special place in order to identify the problems that the young people face and try to find adequate solutions. For that purpose we conducted interviews with Dimitar Vanchov, which is previous youth enagement worker from the Municipality of Centar and Aleksandar Stojanovski, which was project leader of one of the projects financed by the Youth Fund I 2017. Also, a special place in the interviews took Daniel Unevski as president of the previous Youth Council of Municipality of Kavadarci and coordinator of the project Cultural (R)Evolution and Zoran Ilievski, as executive director of Coalition of youth organization SEGA.
As a conclusion from this interviews we can see that all the stakeholders agree on the fact that although youth participation is present in Macedonia, on some level, there is still a lot of space for improvement and that’s why we need active citizens and projects, like the Balkan Platform so we can achieve our goal- to built a society with active young people, who will be more than willing to be included in the decision making process, especially on local level.
