Volleyball & Music Fest Kamenica 2017 is the initiative from the non-formal group ”Retro group“  created by young girls from Zavidovici, with support from Caffee Bar Retro from Zavidovici. This initiative was supported by Local Youth Fund within the Balkan Regional Platform for Youth Participation and Dialogue.

The idea behind the initiative was to make a volleyball tournament for girls but on sand, which is why the tournament was organized in the famous nature resort Kamenica which is part of natural monument Tajan.

The tournament was held on 8th of July and finished on 10th of July 2017.

The tournament gathered 24 teams from cities from Bosnia and Herzegovina - one team was made up of two girls. Event like this is something new for citizens of Zavidovici, and the participants in the tournament and the rest of the visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the tournament but also in the beautiful nature.

The preparation for tournament were really intensive, because the sand from the playground needed to be removed and new sand had to be put, and also the non-formal group “Retro group” were cleaning the area around the place where the tournament will be held.

The aim of the initiative was to enrich the sports events in Zavidovici, and also to promote volleyball on sand as equal sport among other sports, but also to promote girls volleyball.

The best team on tournament was the team “Retro pub” (Zavidovici), the second best team was Coffee Bar “Longo”( Zavidovici),  and third best was SMP team from city of Kakanj.

For the teams who won the first three places medals and awards were provided.

During the tournament the local DJs played live music with their own sets, and contributed towards the really good atmosphere in the natural resort.
