
In favor of creating an enabling environment for the civil sector and an interactive corner for citizens to meet CSOs, Civica Mobilitas and the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) organized the second Day of Civil society organizations in Skopje, on 14th of September 2019 in the Ibni Pajko park and on the Skanderbeg Square.
Around 1000 citizens had the opportunity to visit the booths of more than 80 Civil Society organizations from the country presenting their activities in various fields as youth, local democracy, education and training, rule of law etc. The visitors also participated in different workshops, games, advocacy activities and lectures.
On the ALDA Skopje stand participants could discover the activities of the project Regional youth compact for Europe, that youngsters found especially interesting, as they promoted European values and possibilities take part in the local platforms. The regional aspect of the project peaked the attention of the public, which was a perfect occasion to promote also the Balkan Network for Local Democracy (BNLD), partner in the project and the vision behind the creation of the network.
Having in mind that the enormous contribution of CSO’s to society and the community, the "CSO Day" was a great opportunity for the citizens to inform them self, as well as to become involved in the CSO’s activities and initiatives as Youth Compact and BNLD.
The project “Regional Youth Compact for Europe” implemented by the Center for Democracy Foundation, European ALDA network and the ALDA – Western Balkans Network for Local Democracy, CRTA, Youth Act and Sodem. This project is funded by the European Union and the Balkan Trust for Democracy, a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
