In mid-March this year, a terrible monster called a corona appeared. The media started bombarding us with news about the corona. I have not seen any media that does not speak on this topic, I have not seen the voice of reason, I have not seen influential people put themselves on the front, there is no academic community to direct its herds, its peoples. Fear and nervousness crept in among the people, people began to panic.
Little by little, almost all segments of society began to close. Kindergartens and schools were closed, religious facilities were closed, sports stopped, some measures were introduced that I thought I would no longer experience like curfew. Many people lost their jobs, service activities and tourism closed. The routine has changed.
We slowly got used to the new situation. Like it or not, the corona changes our lives.
The community responded quite well to this situation - helping farmers, distributing masks and gloves that everyone started producing. Wages have fallen to a minimum again and our community understands that the only cultivation of the land will not betray because no help is coming from higher levels of government.
Classes are held online and the virtual world has become real. Seminars became webinars.
The heroes became medics, doctors who carried this situation in the best possible way.
Food becomes more expensive and oil cheaper - I don't remember cheaper oil (in April 1 l of oil = 1.41 KM / 0.7 euro)
The government and crisis headquarters were not up to the task. Various measures were adopted such as bans, quarantine, isolation and self-isolation. The people generally respected the rules and regulations but the biggest problem is the indiscriminate application of the provisions. The state of natural disaster is being abolished, but measures remain indoors, which, in my opinion, will not last long.
The government, for who knows how many times, proved incompetent and failed the exam. Respirators were bought by huge prices, so the representatives of the authorities ended up on the defendant's bench.
What can we learn from the crisis? Volunteering and social engagement among individuals has once again proven to be a virtue because many, especially the elderly, have needed and need help, whether in food, medicine, or in paying bills.
This is the time when we shut ourselves in our houses and kept in touch virtually. I realized that I really miss going out for coffee in the cafe, free movement, going to the hairdresser because these are seemingly small details that turned out to be great benefits.
At the end of April, the measures began to be relaxed, which I hope will be abolished as soon as possible and everything will return to normal. Gradually the condition normalizes. Cafes and other service activities started working, children enrolled in school and students started taking exams. There are still queues of people waiting for a service (e.g. banks), but in any case we expect normalization. Off-road workers returned to their jobs.
For me personally, this period was very productive because I rested, was close to my family, took the certificate for an amateur radio and often rode a bicycle and got to know the beautiful landscapes that our city Zavidovići is rich in. In our time when the mass media is creating public opinion, a new wave of the corona is expected, but I believe that it will not arouse fear and anxiety in people like the previous one. Good luck everyone.
