The summer recreation center for children "Strani Vari" started in Zavidovici

The 16th summer recreation center for children "Strani Vari" started in Zavidovići. The center will last from July 23 to August 3, 2018.

The realization of this project was made possible by the Association Strani Vari (Italy) through the Local Democracy Agency Zavidovici as an organization for international cooperation with the Municipality of Zavidovići, with the help of elementary schools from the municipality of Zavidovići.

The project is traditionally held every summer since 2003 and is designed to make children feel better about themselves and the environment, develop a sense of society and have a good time in the summer.
The activities are organized in elementary schools in the municipality of Zavidovići and involve creative work with children through play and workshops. Over 350 children from Zavidovići participate at this year's "Strani Vari". Educated volunteers from Italy and Zavidovići are working with children.

Alma Hadzic has shared her experience in the work on this project and she is participating in the workshops as a volunteer for the second year.

Through these two years, I realized how many children are actually decoration of the world and how a small person can make your day happy. Also, I would like to mention the socializing with our friends from Italy, which is more and more pleasant every day. This project positively affects people, brings new experiences and knowledge. I'm glad to be part of it, Alma says.

With the help of acrobats from Torino this year, a circus workshop will be organized in the room of the First Elementary School and a public performance circus planned on August 2nd on the plateau outside the Cultural Center at 8 pm. The free workshop will be held the day before at 16.30.

Quarantine Blues

I returned home a month ago. I was in Mostar doing an internship. I got back just before the border was closed. It was March 15; a state of emergency was introduced that day. Although I didn't receive any information, written or oral, of how I should behave, I "volunteered" to put myself into self-isolation and called the number of the relevant service to ask what else I should do. "Measure your temperature twice a day and isolate yourself from other people for 14 days. If you have a temperature of 38 and start coughing, go to the hospital", the lady told me kindly over the phone. Not a problem, I already knew these were basic measures, and was prepared for them. I have college commitments anyway, and I have the internet and a bunch of books on my list that I haven't had the time to get to (or I've just been lazy). What I didn't know was how much the state of emergency would affect our society and how hard it would be for me to watch it all unfold.

Daily life during COVID-19

As we know corona virus has changed the lives of all people and significantly affected our daily activities.

Mixed feelings such as fear, uncertainty, panic and confusion about this situation have created many questions in my head, but from the very beginning, I believe firmly in one thing, the best we can do for ourselves and the community is to follow the prescribed measures. In this situation, many issues have been raised, from the violation of human rights and reducing the right to privacy on the one hand, and the importance of compliance with the recommended measures on the other hand.
