On the 6th and 7th of april 2021 the Local Democracy Agency Albania organized two local workshops in Vlora city entitled “Youth voice in pre-election process in Albania” within the RYCE project.
The activity was performed as interactive events that addressed youth-related topics as youth participation, and about key reforms in the field of rule of law, good governance, employment and social cohesion in pre-election perspective in Albania.
In the recent years, the involvement of young people in decision-making has been one of the main priorities for fulfilling the recommendations of the European Union. However, fewer and fewer young people have felt part of the decision-making processes due to the lack of the proper policies in place. This has caused brain drain and lack of opportunities for young people in Albania.
For this reason, the activities held with youngsters in order to be able to analyze the electoral agendas of the political parties running for election in April 25th and identify which focuses more on education and employment of youth.
Together with trainer, a professional youth worker, we analyzed which agendas involve young people in their employment policies, how are young graduates considered in these policies and how do they plan to generate new these jobs that can boost the economy.
This and other points were discussed as crucial to guide these young people’s vote to the better choice for their involvement in the society, the marketplace and the decision making.
This activity is organized within “Regional Youth Compact for Europe”, a three-year project implemented by Center for Democracy Foundation and 13 partners. The project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by Balkan Trust for Democracy.
