On 18th and 19th July 2015, ALDA Skopje in cooperation with the Municipality of Vevchani
organized a youth art workshop in the Youth educational center in Vevchani. The two-day
workshop aimed at encouraging youth participation and activism in smaller communities
using artistic expression through photography and film on the topic of youth issues .
15 young people from Vevchani with the support of Youth workers, had the opportunity to
learn and express themselves through different art forms and approach the subject of youth
activism in a creative way.
During the workshops sessions on youth activism and youth policies, the youngsters
demonstrated unique visions on the deficiencies within their community and used their
artistic skills to present them.
The outcome of this workshop were photographs, videos and other artistic creations
motivated by youth engagement. These works will be presented in the form of an exhibition
in Vevchani and also as part of the Balkan tour in the eight cities partners in this project.
The workshop was organized within the framework of the program "Balkan regional platform
for dialogue and participation of young people of the Balkans", financially supported by IPA
Operational Grant project funded by the EU, through the program Civil Society Facility -
Operating Grants to IPA CSO Associations. The program is coordinated by the Association
of the Local Democracy Agencies together with 8 LDAs from 5 Balkan countries: Macedonia,
Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.
