In October 2020, the organisation Ogledna Basta organised research on the topic of political participation and civic activism of youth from villages in the area of Nis.
The current state and effectiveness of youth action in local level structures was analysed on a sample of 200 young people aged 18-30. The interviews were anonymously for the people from 5 municipalities of the city of Nis (14 villages).
Dejan Draskovic from the Association "Ogledna Basta" said that based on the answers obtained through the survey, a proposal of measures and activities would be determined that would strengthen youth activism and develop a culture of youth participation in decision-making processes relevant to the local community.
Based on the collected data, the results were processed and published in 200 copies. For the promotion of the project, posters and leaflets were prepared to invite young people from the countryside to participate in the training.
This activity was organized by “Ogledna Basta” form Serbia within the Youth Fund “We have a say” in the framework of the project Regional Youth compact for Europe.
The project “Regional Youth Compact for Europe” is a three-year project implemented by Center for Democracy Foundation and 13 partners. The project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by Balkan Trust for Democracy.
