Workshop on "My city – youth city" - Urban Youth spot - Life Art Pavilion 2016

In the framework of the Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue, financed by the European Union, LDA Mostar supported by the Center for Architecture, Art and Dialogue ADA Mostar organized an interesting workshop "My city – youth city" - Urban Youth spot - Life Art Pavilion 2016.

The workshop was held between 07 and 08 July 2016 @ Music School, Square Musala, Mostar

Workshop "My city – youth city" - Urban Youth spot - Life Art Pavilion in 2016 was aimed at promoting inclusion and encouraging young people to creatively express their attitude towards certain problems and obstacles faced by young people of the city of Mostar. As part of the workshop, we developed the idea of the importance of quality and thematically treated decorating public open spaces in the city of Mostar, especially those important and related to young people of this city.

In this participatory process young people had the opportunity to explore the opportunities available in the physical and social environment. As a result of the workshop was made a model of "Mobile Hub" in the scale of 1: 200, and the same will be included in a virtual map  of public spaces for young people, which is made in the context of the previous stage at the workshop "My city – city" in 2015.

"Life art pavilion" is designed as a mobile urban point of a dual meaning, social and architectural. This approach to regulation of public space gives new value city in socio-social terms, while at the same time "refreshments" in the architectural sense with regard to this pavilion and when not in use have a strong identity as a piece of urban furniture.

This time scale model will be presented and submitted to the local authorities or representatives of the Mostar City Administration, in order that the city authorities had regard to the proposal young people from city of Mostar in formal and informal planning processes in the local community.

The general public will have a chance to "walk" through the "My city – youth city" through the upgraded virtual map, which will be available on facebook and the website of LDA Mostar and beyond.

In this way young people learn how to express their attitude towards certain problems of the community, and Community learns to listen to their voice.

Special gratitude to our dear colleagues from Mostar Summer Youth Programme, which complement and enhance this experience, to young people, as well as us organizers.
