Balkan Network for Local Democracy and the Children's Center Zajecar organized a training seminar for high school students from Zajecar and Knjazevac on the topics of vlogging and cultural heritage which took place in Zajecar, Serbia from October 24th to 26th.
During these couple of days, the young participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the basics of public speaking, technical aspects of recording and editing video material, placing and promoting content on social media, as well as the importance and ways of promoting cultural heritage. On the second day, the participants had a session with Katarina Ivakić, influencer and founder of the site kata.rs, who shared her knowledge and experience on the topic of vlogging and creating online content. As part of the seminar, the young participants had the opportunity to visit the ancient Roman complex of palaces and temples Felix Romuliana, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2007, and to use it as a filming location for their first vlog with the help of professional photographers and video editors.
This seminar is part of the project "WB cultural heritage in 24 Hours" implemented by the Balkan Network for Local Democracy and the Children's Center Zajecar within the programme "Tandem Western Balkans". The project aims to raise young people's awareness of the importance of cultural heritage in smaller local communities, as well as the promotion of protected cultural heritage using modern online forms.
