As a part of the third Youth Taking Over Day in 2018, on November 20th, LDA Mostar representatives meet the representatives of the Department of Social Affairs as well as with the representatives of the Service for the upbringing, education, youth and sport within the City of Mostar.
The agenda was the formal establishment of Youth Taking Over Day within the City of Mostar’s aforementioned Department and Service. It was agreed that this activity will be conducted as the Open Doors Day for all the young people in the City and will be organized once a year starting from 2019. The Open Doors Day will provide an opportunity for the young people to meet the representatives of the local authorities and decision-makers and to present the issues and needs regarding young people. It will also be a great opportunity for the young people to familiarize themselves with the work of the Service for the upbringing, education, youth and sport within the City of Mostar and to improve their status by actively participate in creation of the youth strategies and policies at the City level.
This meeting was also the final result of the Youth Taking Over campaign LDA Mostar is implementing in the City of Mostar for the last four years in the frame od EU project Balkan Regional Platform for Youth Participation and Dialogue.
As part of the meeting, the director of the Mostar Local Democracy Agency, Dzenana Dedic, awarded the appreciation letter the head of the Department of Social Affairs of the City of Mostar, Bozo Coric and Senada Sadovic, Head of the Service for the upbringing, education, youth and sport within the Department, for the active participation and cooperation in the realization of the mentioned project.
