On the 25th of November 2016, in Peja, in the framework of the project Born – Borderless Nature. Biodiversity Protection and Development of the natural park Prokletije and Bjeshkët e Nemuna, has been held an open presentation of the BorN project and its activities conducted so far. The Project is funded by the European Union Office in Kosovo in the context of the cross-border program Kosovo - Montenegro and implemented by the Association Trentino con il Kossovo, as the lead partner of Local Democracy Agency in Kosovo, the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency and the Municipality of Peja in Kosovo in partnership with the Municipality of Plav and the Regional Centre for Development of Rozhaja.
In the framework of this project, it has been presented two very important products for the protection of the environment and biodiversity and for the public awareness about the environment and the development of new opportunities for the promotion of tourism: Cross- Border Ecological Network Transnational Ecological, Kosovo and Montenegro and the Biodiversity Cross-Border Web Gis.
In this conference, have held a speech, the Mayor of Peja, Mr. Gazmend Muhaxherri, Mr. Fuad Feratovic, the Director of the Department for Investment and Development of the Municipality of Plav, the project manager of the project Mr. Elbert Krasniqi and the experts from Italy involved in this project from Albatros srl.
The Italian and local working groups, presented a strategic document of the cross-border ecological network, the document will be addresses to the local and central authorities.
In the presentation were participating representatives of the National Park Bjeshkët e Nemuna, representatives of local authorities and civil society organizations, which are active in environmental protection and biodiversity.
