7 Local democracy agencies (Prijedor, Mostar, Zavidovici, Niksic, Subotica, Knjazevac and Peja) and ALDA Skopje have launched the 2017 regional research on topic of Cultural participation of youth in the Balkans, which is implemented in the framework of Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue.
The main objective of the research component within the project is to contribute to the involvement of the governments in the Western Balkans to provide more favorable conditions for enhancing cultural participation of youth. More specifically, the research study will encompass youth strategies and national/local sector policy measures adopted in respective countries in support to promoting EU Youth Strategy.
The central part of the research in an online survey, which has an aim to determine the level of cultural participation and its 'products': cultural production, public and private cultural reception in five Balkan countries. The online survey will include young people aged 15-30 years. The deadline for submitting answers is August, 31st 2017.

Apart from the online survey, the regional research is consisted of following additional components:
· Desk analysis. A secondary analysis of data relevant to the culture of the countries in which the study is conducted,
· Focus groups. Qualitative analysis of the data collected in a conversation with focus group participants,
· Interviews with stakeholders. Qualitative analysis of data collected during interviews and with the relevant stakeholders.
