On the 22nd February 2021, the Local Democracy Agency Zavidovići has implemented one-day workshop with young people entitled "We are Europeans" as part of the EU funded project "Regional Youth Compact for Europe". The aim of the workshop was to present to young people the functioning of government institutions, institutional procedures, the transparency reqirements and efficient practices.

Also, young people had the opportunity to increase their knowledge about the Law on Youth of Federation of Bosni and Herzegovina, which is an institutional framework that defines the rights and obligations of young people, but also had the opportunity to get acquainted with municipal government structures in charge of youth issues.

During the workshop, young people in their presentations drew attention to several things that are a problem for them in performing daily activities, during their free time but also during their time spent at school. Young people are generally dissatisfied with the attitude of teachers towards them in their schools, they are dissatisfied with the extracurricular activities and the fact that they do not have the opportunity to express their opinions on problems within school institutions. They further expressed dissatisfaction with the security situation in our municipality, where they cited problems such as lack of lighting in the settlements where they live, increased incidence of migrants and fear of stray dogs, which they believe have no place on the streets of our municipality. They also expressed concern about climate change, of which they are well aware, and our attitude towards the natural resources located in our municipality. They believe that it needs to be done more in promotion the natural resources, as well as a larger promotion of its preservation and protection.

These workshops give to the  young people an opportunity to share their views with non-governmental organizations on everyday events that young people encounter, and offer them a new opportunity for learning.

In the continuation of these activities, young people will have the opportunity to present their thoughts directly to the municipal government structures and to  decision makers in our municipality.
