On the 29th 2016, an interview about youth mobility was realized with Stella Gelmini from the InCo Association in Trentino, Italy. The interview was conducted by LDA Kosovo’s youth correspondents and volunteers: Arnisa Lipa, Linda Çavdarbasha, Njomza Hoxha, Vullnet Gusia and Erelinda Avdimetaj.
InCo Association deals with youth mobility and at the moment works on different projects to create the opportunities for young people to live abroad temporarily.
The fruitful interview with the representative of InCo assosication was realized during Gelmini's stay in Kosovo for one week with a group of students, volunteering in the Summer Camp 2016 of the Activity Platform: Balcanimazioni, organized by LDA Kosovo’s lead partner, Associazione Trentino con i Balcani. Ms. Gelmini stated that “youth mobility is a way of living – because it’s a very great experience that young people could have in terms of living abroad, discover something about themselves and gain additional skills”.
She also thinks that there are several motivations for young people to be part of the youth exchanging programmes, starting form one’s own advantages while being part of different mobility programmes because living abroad helps you discover, fist of all yourself - that part which the youngsters won’t be able to discover in their home country, because when living in another culture, we may see in a different way than when staying in our home country – and maybe we will have the chance to take more responsibilities, which is an important skill to gain, Gemini says.
The final message for the youngsters of Kosovo from Ms. Stella Gelmini was:
“Young people, try to do at least one of the youth mobility experiences! Discover yourself, discover other ways of living, in the same time you will discover how you can look at the world with another pair of glasses because when you understand another culture, your glasses become the colour of the culture of the country visited, so you can see that culture in your home country - at the same time come back to your home country because you should bring back what you learnt to improve yourself, to improve something in your own country, and especially to understand better your own experience that you did abroad”.
