Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue have participated in Here we come! Conference on Talent Management and Youth Perspectives in the Western Balkans held in Brussels 19th of June 2018.
The conference was organised by the Antall József Knowledge Centre in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, aimed to discuss the current challenges of young generations and the future of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans.
Youth unemployment is one of the main drivers of emigration of young people all over the Balkans. The mass exodus of youth from the Southeast European neighbourhood is a severe consequence of sectoral problems, strongly related to unemployment, higher education systems, as well as to the job market conditions. In addition, these countries are also facing brain drain. In this complex situation, the role and importance of social responsibility and entrepreneurship are becoming more and more significant. This conference was organised in order to ensure that the voice of the youngsters are being heard.
Members of our team were guest speakers in the workshop on Mobility of Youth in the Balkans which was hosted by Francesco Pala (Assistant of Secretary General of ALDA). Aleksandra Gligorevic (Expert) pointed out main results of our reserach on mobility and Maja Kos (Youth Coordiantor) talked about position and possibilities of the youth in our region.
This conference was very succesfull and important for developing further strategies for youth mobility and for strenghtening of the existing networks in the region.
