It’s true, that family and school educate us. I personally think, that we as human beings are educated from what surrounds us.
In the first days of our life we fall in the warm arms of our mother.
Family is the first reality, that opens the doors to the world and for our first lessons in life. Inside of it, we learn how to love, how to treat others, how to act in different situations, etc. The family can be the first that offers us the opportunity to learn about foreign cultures, as well, because we know that a child's curiosity is so expanded, therefore they are being called as “the greatest philosopher”. A question needs to be answered simply and understandable for them. Every parent should know how to respond to the questions of their children, even if they ask “why the moon always walks with us”.
If in many answers the children get a negative and hateful response, they will grow hatred in themselves and will grow up in the wrong spirit, so later on they will have difficulties to understand the reality properly.
Since the age of five, the school becomes our second home. New information will be added in our minds and like this, in another continued form of education, it begins to take its own power, by letting us wonder: who we are? What should we believe in and why? What does it mean to be humane? Somehow, the books attempt to explain the questions we make about life in general. In the other hand, in the school our society circle starts getting bigger, friends and teachers become our new family members, from which we can learn from as well.
Each of us can benefit from every daily situation.
From my point of view, most important, is to let a person know that every thought of them is worth listening to, and moreover people are not born to belong to any kind religion in specific. Beliefs are created during our life experience and whatever that belief is, we all should respect one another’s beliefs and conviction that most probably give us strength and happiness.
Each educator (parent, teacher, etc) should be careful on trying to convince others by telling them whom to love. Some things are biological and we cannot change them.
The best education we can give to someone is, to make people around us to be themselves and love themselves for who they are, without any fear of possible prejudices.
Really relevant for us all is to not judge what we don’t like. Diversity is beautiful!
To sum up, the family and schools are not the only true educators. People learn a lot from books, travelling, meeting and knowing new people and any other experiences in life.
Every idea requires its theory.
