The first activity as part of the project "The voice of youth - promoting dialogue between youngsters and local authorities in Municipality of Kavadarci", was held last week in Youth Info Center "Info SEGA", as part of the project "Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue", supported by the European commission and implemented by ALDA Skopje. Two debates on the topic "The voice of youth" were organized.

During the debates the participants discussed about youth participation on all levels of the society and life in the Municipality of Kavadarci. Several sub-topics were covered:

- Do youngsters really can change something in their municipality?

- Do youngsters in our municipality want, have the right and feel motivated enough to take active part of all levels of society?

- Which areas of our municipality need greater youth participation and where are changes most needed? Several fields were covered: education; employment; life environment; culture; volunteering and internships.

- Is there collaboration between youngsters and local authorities in the Municipality of Kavadarci and what are the mechanisms to ensure youth participation in the process of decision making?

In the next period, a local research (survey) will be conducted based on the data and opinions of the youngsters that participated in the debates. The survey will include 300 youngsters on the age from 15 to 30, and it will be conducted online and in schools, universities and youth organisations.

The analysis of the survey, the data and the recommendations will be delivered to the local self-government.
