Culture can be defined as a dynamic process that through human evolution allows a person to adapt to the world around it.

Because of the importance that culture carries, both for the development and survival of the individual and for the whole community, the individual needs to improve and create the best foundation for life and work for oneself and for the people around him. However, are young people as one of the most important members of society aware of this importance? What is their involvement and interest in culture? What are the obstacles for a more active participation of young people in the field of culture? Lack of time, resources, interests? Why are young people spending more and more of their time on leisure and recreation? Does such behavior influence the development of intellectual, value, and moral potentials? Do we have a problem with a negative impact on the formation of the personality of the youth as a whole?

The main reason for the low participation of young people is the lack of interest. The „guilt“ is also on young people who passively spend their free time, without any initiative and interest in designing any kind of cultural activity. However, not only are young people guilty of this attitude towards culture. What happens with formal education? Do teachers, trainers and professors care for their students' free time? Are they engaged enough to establish various extracurricular activities and are they paying attention to the different creative interests and needs of students? Can parents also be the initiators of a greater participation of their children in culture? What about the culture of peers, which we can say is one of the stronger factors that influence the engagement of young people in the field of culture? How many of our cultural institutions are interested in developing the cultural needs of young people?

Every link of the "Cultural Participation of Youth" has certain shortcomings, and as a consequence, we now have a lack of interest, cultural poverty and youth vandalism. Because of all of the above, it is very important to find out the omissions and to actively begin to work on improving the current situation. It will take a lot of effort, work, time, but it will contribute to the continuous development of cultural interests, the improvement of the lives of young people and the improvement of the life of community.
