On 29 of March, 2019 in Niksic, the Local Democracy Agency Montenegro organized the event Platform for Dialogue “Monitoring reforms locally -best practice, becomes our practice” within the project Regional Youth Compact for Europe.

As the main topic was Youth employment, all relevant stakeholders attended the event, national and local institutions, CSOs, local business and youth representatives. The importance of this event can be reflected in the various and numerous conclusions given by the different types of stakeholders, who approached the topic from a different perspective, sharing their own experience, opinions and ideas.

Regarding the youth employment, the institutions offer numerous mobility, employment and vocational programs, but the young people need to be more active. According to the young people, they think that it is crucial for youth employment that professional or vocational training practices are part of every high-school and university curricula. Also, the sources of relevant information are distanced from the young people and the career counselling centers should be closer.

The project Regional Youth Compact for Europe represents initiative of the 14 Western Balkan organizations and its aim is to strengthen youth civil society organizations in monitoring process of the EU accession, especially in negotiations chapters 19, 23 and 24. It also aims to bring these processes closer to the citizens.

The Platform for Dialogue “Monitoring reforms locally -best practice, becomes our practice” is organized in the framework of the project “Regional youth compact for Europe” implemented by the Center for Democracy Foundation, Balkan Network for Local Democracy, CRTA, Youth Act and Sodem.
