Local Democracy Agency Mostar, within the “Balkan Regional Platform for Youth Participation and Dialogue” funded by the European Commission (Civil Society Facility, Operating Grants to IPA CSO Associations, Support to regional thematic associations), is inviting young people from 15 to 30, who are active or would like to start acting on and influencing one of the burning issues within the youth population of Mostar to apply for:
NEW MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL ADVISORY GROUP MOSTAR
Local Advisory Group activities:
- Including young members of local communities into decision-making processes
- Writing proposals and solutions concerning the issues of the youth within the local communities
- Facilitation of the project activities
- Attending 4 annual meetings
Local Advisory Group involves young members of the local communities who recognise and are willing to tackle the burning issues of youth in the city of Mostar. Moreover, followed by recognition of an institutional solution pathways to the problems and issues at hand. During 2016, Local Advisory Group Mostar tackled the following issues recognized by the youth of the city of Mostar:
- Amendments to the protocol of assigning scholarships awarded by the City of Mostar – introduction of volunteering and personal extracurricular successes as criteria to be evaluated when choosing scholarships awardees. This initiative resulted in a successful cooperation with the City of Mostar and its officials, most of whom recognized the importance of creating such amendments in 2017.
- Amendments to the protocol and evaluation of criteria for Interns within the Hercegovina Neretva Canton – Local Advisory Group Mostar recognized the issues with invitations to tenders, selection protocols as well as awarding internships, and addressed them institutionally, through written forms with the Governance of HNC, in order to offer solutions. This correspondence will continue throughout 2017.
