The Balkan network for local democracy took part in the first Tandem Western Balkans Partner Forum organizied in Belgrade, Serbia, from the 12th to the 16th November 2019.
Tandem Western Balkans is a one-year learning by doing programme that enables cultural operators to kick-start long-term regional collaboration in the Western Balkans. The Tandem platform supports social change through strategic cultural action and is envisioned as a space for project initiators to acquire new skills, develop innovative practices and connect to regional networks.
23 cultural managers from the region participated in this event in order the create partnerships with organizations from different countries but working on similar topics.
By using different techniques as speed and slow dating, by the 15th of November the participant found their tandems and developed joint projects.
The tandems have until the 1st of September to write the project proposals and submit them. BNLD is now working with their tandem the Children's Center Zajecar, Serbia on their joint project.
The Tandem programme was co-created by the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) and MitOst in 2011 and so far has supported more than 600 cultural organisations, local administrations and socially orientated enterprises from over 300 local – urban and rural – communities inside and outside the EU.
